Our first unit will focus on sound.
Students in this grade will expand upon their earlier experience. They will identify sound as the result of vibrations. Further observations will uncover the concept that changing the vibration of a sound will result in changing the sound they hear. Students will observe that sound is a form of energy and by changing the amount of energy, the sound will get louder or softer. They will also observe that by changing the speed of the vibrations, the pitch of the sound will also change. A culminating project will be assigned a week before the end of the unit.
Big Ideas:
Mrs. Wilson's class only: Sound project is due November 20, 2017

Big Ideas:
- Vibrations are back and forth movements that produce sound
- A change in the vibration will produce a change in the sound.
